Computer Science Professor Emeritus Charles Van Loan has been awarded the 2018 John von Neumann Lecture Prize. The prize is awarded for outstanding contributions to the field of applied mathematical sciences. The recipient receives a monetary prize and will present a survey lecture at the annual meeting of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM).
