Congrats to fifth-year PhD student Sam Hopkins, who has received a postdoctoral fellowship from the Miller Institute at UC Berkeley where just 12 fellowships are awarded each year across all STEM disciplines. Sam's research at Cornell has focused design and analysis of algorithms with provable guarantees for high-dimensional statistical inference, especially via convex programming. At Cornell, Sam has been advised by David Steurer. His hosts at Berkeley will be Prasad Raghavendra and Luca Trevisan.
