Anne Bracy, Senior Lecturer in Computer Science, has won the Tau Beta Pi Professor of the Year Award presented by the Cornell Engineering Alumni Association (CEAA). Bracy joined Cornell in Fall 2015 and has been a frequent instructor for CS classes including 1110, 2110, 3410, and 4410. Reached for comment on the honor, she fittingly turned attention to the classroom, noting that she "loves finding the perfect everyday analogy to explain technical concepts." One of her proudest teaching moments, she says, happened when she overheard a student say “Professor Bracy tricked me into thinking I like hardware.”
The award will be presented to her at the annual CEAA Awards dinner on April 12. Past winners include CS Professors Robert Kleinberg (A.B., ’97) in 2012, and Daniel Huttenlocher in 1993.
