Install MATLAB
You have access to MATLAB for free as a current Cornell student. You need the license number and activation key in this document.
There are several ways to access MATLAB:
- Install MATLAB on your personal computer. Follow the instructions on this page; the links will include detailed steps. You should follow all of the instructions in the "New Installation of MATLAB: Single-User Configuration" section if you have never installed MATLAB before. (note: you do not need to install all of the toolboxes; the default selection is more than sufficient, and MATLAB takes up enough disk space as it is).
- Use MATLAB Online by creating a MathWorks account using your Cornell email address. This web browser based access to MATLAB does not require software download. When prompted for your sign in Email, put in your cornell emaill address. Then link the Cornell license using the license at this link. If this link does not work for you, go to this page and click on the link that says "MATLAB activation for all other Cornell students".
- Use MATLAB in a public computer lab. The labs on the Engineering Quad (ACCEL, Upson, Phillips) and the one in Robert Purcell on north campus have MATLAB installed on Windows machines.
