Why MATLAB?
Both CS100J and CS100M use MATLAB (http://www.mathworks.com), which is:

• a high level software package designed for numerical analysis.
• used extensively in industry.
• used extensively throughout Cornell in Engineering, Computer Science, and other disciplines.

• The instructors will give you a user name and password which are identical for all students in the class.
• Do not give this password to others.
• If you forget the password, you must see an instructor.
• You can purchase a personal copy of the Student Edition of MATLAB at the Campus Store or other bookstores.
