APEX 2001

This six-minute, completely computer-generated film illustrates NASA's plan for a Mars landing in 2001. It was created over a one-and-a-half year period by Dan Maas, under the supervision of Prof. Steven Squyres at Cornell University.

This mission as depicted was cancelled in late 1999. NASA plans to return to Mars with a rover landing in 2003.
