Brief Biography
I passed my A-Exam (dissertation proposal) in July 2008 and obtained my Master of Science degree in August 2008. I am currently researching one last topic for my Ph.D. dissertation and writing up a couple papers. I plan to complete my Ph.D. by August 2009 and I am currently looking for exciting career opportunities in either Computer Architecture, Software Design (algorithm development and optimization), or Finance.
I began studying for a combined M.S./Ph.D. at Cornell University, in the Department of Computer Science in the Fall of 2003. In January 2005, I joined the Computer Systems Laboratory, a collaborative group of researchers in the Departments of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Computer Science concentrating on Computer Systems research, in particular Computer Architecture and Digital VLSI. My dissertation advisor is Associate Professor David Albonesi. The focus of my research is on adaptive thread management techniques for power, temperature, and reliability. I have worked on a number of projects in this field, including thermal management in clustered simultaneous multi-threaded (SMT) microarchitectures, OS thread scheduling for unpredictably heterogeneous chip multiprocessor (CMP) architectures, and most recently, combined power management and scheduling in unpredictably heterogeneous CMPs.
Before attending Cornell, I obtained my Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Computer Engineering at the University of Toronto in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I graduated with honours in June 2003. While at U of T, I was involved in skule and residence life at University College where I lived for 4 years.
