Rishabh Madan

I am a PhD student in Computer Science at Cornell University, where I am part of the EmPRISE Lab and advised by Prof. Tapomayukh Bhattacharjee. Previously, I was a Robotics Software Engineer working on mobile robots for agricultural environments at SAGA Robotics. Prior to that I also spent a wonderful year as a visiting scientist at the Personal Robotics Lab under the guidance of Siddhartha S. Srinivasa. I am broadly interested in robotics and machine learning, and how we can leverage them to build physical caregiving robots that assist people with mobility limitations with activites of daily living.

I received my B.Tech. at IIT Kharagpur, where I was advised by Pabitra Mitra for my thesis project on leveraging prior knowledge for efficient exploration in RL. While at IIT, I was a part of the Autonomous Ground Vehicle (AGV) Research Group at IIT Kharagpur, where I majorly contributed to the planning and perception modules. I was also a member of Kharagpur Open Source Society that aims to promote open source through campus wide activities.
