Sun | Jul 12 | 6:30pm – 7:00pm | Overview of Design Project, RPCC, Wendy Purcell Lounge |
Mon | Jul 13 | 1:00pm – 5:00pm | Lab #1: The Power of Pixels |
In this introductory lab, scholars will learn about how images are represented as collections of pixels, and will regenerate the first color photographs ever taken by the Russian photographer Prokudin-Gorskii in the early 1900.
Tue | Jul 14 | 1:00pm – 5:00pm | Lab #2: Blurring, Counting, and Cartoonifying |
Scholars will learn how to filter images to count the number of cells in a microscope image or turn photos into cartoon-style works of art.
Wed | Jul 15 | 1:00pm – 5:00pm | Lab #3: How do we Send an Image Three Billion Miles? |
Scholars will take photos from space and shrink them into much smaller size with the same quality, and enhance badly garbled satellite images.
Thu | Jul 16 | 1:00pm – 5:00pm | Design and Implement Final Project |
Scholars will design and implement their final project new ways of computationally enhancing images.
Fri | Jul 17 | 1:00pm – 5:00pm | Implement Final Project, Produce Artifacts, Prepare Presentation |
Scholars will finish implementing their final projects, will produce a creative “artifact” using their project, and prepare a short presentation describing the problem statement, approach, and results.
Sat | Jul 18 | 10:15am – 12:30pm | Final Presentations by Students, RPCC 101-103 |
