Transparencies and Slides

Yes! You can get transparencies from me!

I have several kinds of transparencies, and the kind you will need depends on which printer you plan to use. Secondly, we need to know whether you plan on printing in black-and-white or color. You will most likely be using black-and-white.

Black and white slides

You can make black and white slides on the copy machine in my office. The transparencies load into the paper tray just like paper and this machine makes nice slides. It seldom jams.

Black-and-white slides are routine for most coursework. Keep in mind that all transparencies are expensive.

Color Slides

When you are sure you need color slides, determine which printer you will be using. There is a different type of transparency for each kind of printer: laser jet; ink jet; phaser. Use of the wrong transparency will result in jamming (usually not too big a problem) or melts (always a Big Problem).

It's best to use spot color rather than colored backgrounds. Slides with a great deal of color take a very long time to print.

I am generally here between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Feel free to come by during those hours to make your slides.
