This paper provides a basic analysis of the performance of NetSlice versus two similar frameworks, Intel DPDK and netmap. NetSlice, while extremely portable and scalable up to 30Gbps, hits a bottleneck when attempting to scale it further. Intel DPDK and netmap, on the other hand, are capable of scaling up to 40Gbps. We hope to find this bottleneck and provide evidence that NetSlice can be also be scaled up to 40Gbps.
