Project Summary

The goal of the CS 5150 project is to build a mobile app (Android and/or iOS), which will be the minimal viable product for Reduce.

Reduce is a 2 sided platform between consumers and retail grocery stores. The business objective is to make customers aware of when reduce-to-clear food and drink items are available. This saves food waste by not only allowing consumers discounted goods but increasing retailers' revenue.

The mobile application allows users to receive push notifications from their local stores that they choose to subscribe to. The customer journey is as follows: download app - sign in - enter area code - view participating stores by radius - select relevant stores - set up complete.

Future features would allow the user be to see products by category i.e. vegetables and a show me function that pulls real time data from participating stores when in a different area to the customer home set up.
