Note

This project now has a full team.

Project

Ricup.com is a startup company that has created a website for students to "find things (aka events) to do around campus." The system itself is mature, with a robust backend. However, while the front end is fully featured, its design is soon going to be significantly changed.

The client has suggested three possible areas for a CS 5150 project. Clearly not all of them can be done in the time available and the first step would be to meet with him and agree on the scope of a project.

Mobile App
This project would focus on either creating an Android or IOS mobile application to explore events, post events, and interact with other client services. This would also include defining and exposing an API to interact with the main servers and databases.
Event Suggestion
This project would focus on providing and displaying events that would be of interest to the user. This will involve developing customizable machine learning algorithms to analyze user preferences to help users be able to quickly and effortlessly find events they are interested in.
Analytics
This project would focus on developing a set of analytic tools to help developers learn about the end user. It will help products and features be developed before even the end user realizes they want such a feature. This will involve developing an application and interface for developers explore the end users behavior.
