We decided to use paintings for both of our scenes — one by Van Gogh, one by Monet. We wanted to see how images with imperfect (or occaionally, impossible) perspective would appear when converted to 3d scenes.
"Bedroom in Arles" by Vincent Van Gogh
"Rue De La Bavolle Honfleur" by Claude Monet
After creating 3D models of both paintings, we produced new views to showcase the 3D models.
In order to improve the quality of the 3D models, we touched up some of the textures. For instance, in this back wall, we removed all of the items that we had reproduced in 3D, preventing them from appearing twice.

We also edited the texture of the man standing in the street in the Monet painting; modifying alpha channels, we made it so that the background in the texture image was removed.
