The homography did not work well at all for the images we took, which may be a result of a lack of adaquate features to find a decent homography. In our test results, the sample images
were able to extend quite a bit further before losing coherence
Discussion:
On the whole, our panorama stitching system worked quite well. The translation using spherical warping performed very well with both the test images, and our own images.
There was a slight problem with drift that we noted that remained uncorrected, however. Our homography code had some unexplained shearing in the end that prevented it from performing
up to par with the translation code. Naturally, the system works best with tripod-shots, and you can see a small amount of mismatch in the panorama of duffield hall because of the imperfect
nature of hand-held shots.
