Lorenzo Alvisi
he, him, hisAfter completing his Ph.D. at Cornell, Lorenzo was a Professor at UT Austin, where he picked up his thick Texan accent. His research is on scalable, fault tolerant, distributed computing. Lorenzo serves on the steering committee of the Symposium on Operating Systems Principle (SOSP), the world's premier conference in Operating Systems (and indeed, everything related to Systems!) He is a founding director of the CMMRS Undergraduate Research Summer School: learn more about it!
