CS/INFO 3152: Introduction to Computer Game Development

Communication Lab 14
Final Portfolio

The focus of today's lab is to work on revising your documents for Final Document Portfolio. There is no formal activity for this lab. However, the TAs and Traci will be present in your Discord channels if you have questions on how to improve your documents. Remember that this submission is final for the first three documents. If you are having trouble with your documents, now is time to get help.

If you wish, you can also use the time to talk to TAs about technical issues regarding your golden master. This is your time; use it wisely.

Documentation

You should spent your time in this lab revising or working on four different documents. The first three of these must be finalized this week. The fourth is optional

Gameplay Specification

This is the document where you describe the core actions, challenges, and interactions in your game. It should be updated to reflect the most recent version of your gameplay as of this assignment. Again, you should read and respond to our comments from the previous two drafts.

Architecture Specification

This is the document where you describe the basic architecture of your game. It should be updated to reflect the most recent version of your software as of this assignment. It will not be graded for the actual software design decisions; instead the grade will just reflect your ability to communicate these design decisions. Again, you should read and respond to our comments from the previous two drafts.

Design Specification

This is the document that describes the visual and auditory design of your game. Typically these documents are very strong, and many of these documents should be almost done. Just respond to our most recent comments and you will be fine.

Level Design Document (Optional)

You have not yet had a revision of the level design document. This is your second draft. However, we have spent so much time working on this in class that hopefully you have gotten this down by now.
