Windows users have another option for running a UNIX shell on their Windows machine without using virtualization. You can opt to install the Windows Subsystem for Linux (from Microsoft). I do not have much experience with this, but the instructions are here. More information about WSL will be posted in this area if there is a demand for it. Please let me know via email if you intend to use WSL.
