Install MATLAB
You have access to MATLAB for free as a current Cornell student. You need the license number and activation key in this document.
There are several ways to access MATLAB:
- Install MATLAB on your personal computer. Follow the instructions on this page; the links will include detailed steps. Past course consultant Gabe Klee made this helpful step-by-step ppt with screen captures to walk you through the installation process: ppt (note: you do not need to install all of the toolboxes; the default selection is more than sufficient, and MATLAB takes up enough disk space as it is).
- Use MATLAB Online by creating a MathWorks account using your Cornell email address. This web browser based access to MATLAB does not require software download.
- Use MATLAB in a public computer lab. The labs on the Engineering Quad (ACCEL, Upson, Phillips) and the one in Robert Purcell on north campus have MATLAB installed on Windows machines.
