NOTE ON THE ASSIGNMENT DUE ON 27 October
Many students are experiencing problems because they are not following carefully enough the instructions concerning "reducing all values mod m". EVERY operation in expMod and in your fancyDecrypt and fancy Encrypt that may produce a value that is at least m MUST be reduced mod m. For example, in method exp there is an assignment z= z*x; The value z*x may get larger than m. Therefore, in expMod, this statement must be rewritten as z= mod(z*x,m); Be careful with the same thing in fancyEncrypt and fancyDecrypt!
Important quiz in lecture on Tuesday, 27 October. You MUST know precisely the information given on the handout in lecture on Thursday,22 October. There will be no partial credit. Also, attend this lecture to learn about the next, neat programming assignment: playing checkers and learning about GUIs. Don't miss it!!!!

Here is a handout on loops, which may be helpful when you study for Prelim 2. It will be hnaded out at the review session on Sunday, 18 October.
Prelim 2 is on Tuesday, 20 October, 7:30-9PM. The room for the prelim depends on the first letter of your last name:

On Assignment 3. Make sure you place method describe AFTER (or before) method main. If you place method describe inside method main, you will get a totally perplexing error, perhaps concerning an expected "}". Don't place method describe inside method main.

Assignment 2 is posted under Assignments Face.java and Paint2.java files are up for Assignment 2 in Assignment.
In the writeup for Assignment 2, it says to hand in a copy of trivialApplication. Instead, hand in a copy of CUCSGraphicsApplication. Sorry for the misprint. Also, on the PC version, two of the faces may be printed too high up, so that their heads are chopped off. It would be best to move the heads down.
