Supported platforms and known bugs

This site uses Java heavily. It was tested on the following platforms:

UNIX:
- SunOS 4.1.4,
- Solaris - SunOS 5.6,
- Linux with several 2.0.xx kernels,
- IRIX 5.3 and 6.2,
- BSDI 3.0 (both regular and with MOSIX extension)
all with Netscape 3.0 and higher versions.
Windows95 and Windows NT 4.0 with Netscape 3.0 or higher, and Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher versions.
MacOS 7.5+ with Netscape 3.0 or higher versions (at least 32 MB main memory is recommended).

Under UNIX (all versions tested) a Motif warning 'Name: slist, Class XmList, ...' is popped whenever an 'Alignment' window is brought up. We suspect this to be a minor problem somewhere in the AWT Motif peer implementation. This problem, except for being a nuisance doesn't seem to have any effect on execution. Pressing 'Ok' should make the warning window go away.
For Windows NT users: java hangs communicator on Windows NT 4.0 with service pack 3. There is a patch that can solve this problem. Download this patch here
