Sections
Lecture Times
You are expected to attend lecture twice each week. While the 9:05 and 11:15 lectures are identical you must attend your assigned lecture. We simply do not have the room for students to freely change between sections on a whim. If you are having troubles changing sections, contact Amy Finch Elser.
Lecture | Course No. | Day | Time | Where |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | 6686 | Tue - Tue | 09:05 - 09:55 am | Uris Hall G01 |
2 | 6687 | Sun - Tue | 11:15 - 12:05 pm | Statler Auditorium |
Discussion Sections (Labs)
During the COVID year, we changed labs sections so that they were held twice a week, instead of the once a week from previous years. We did this without changing the overall amount of work for the students, and found that this made the labs less stressful (as they were easier to finish on time). Therefore, we continuing with this practice.
You lab section will meet either Tuesday-Thursday or Wednesday-Friday. These labs are spread across several classrooms. Attendance is semi-manadatory, in that you must get checked off for your work after each lab. While it is possible to get credit for a lab outside of class – using the online lab system – manual checks must be done in your specific lab section. You may not get a manual checkoff in consultant hours or a section that is not your own. If you need to switch lab sections, contact Amy Finch Elser.
If you have an occasional scheduling conflict (e.g. religious holidays, athletic events), notify your section leader listed in the table below.
Computer Access
Please note that only Phillips 318 contains actual computers. The other discussion sections are held in traditional classrooms, and you are expected to bring your laptop. This means that students without their own laptop must attend a section in Phillips 318. If you do not have a laptop and are not in a Phillips 318 section, contact Amy Finch Elser immediately. We will work to switch you into a discussion section in Phillips 318 at the same time as your current section.
The flip side of this is that if you have your own laptop, you may be moved to a discussion section in Phillips 203 or Hollister 401. Again, you will always be swapped into a discussion section at the same time as your current section. We just need to make sure that the computer lab is sufficiently utilized.
