Flesh and Machines: Robots and People

As we build robots that are more and more capable what does that say about our own limitations and capabilities?  And what does it say about our relationships to machines?  I will discuss where we have come in building intelligent robots and where we might soon be going, and how they may impact our society, our senses of ourselves, and how it is creating a “transcendence” meme for many people.
