• Two prelims and final
• Final is non-comprehensive
• Closed book with one-page reference sheet allowed
• Grading breakdown
• 417: 55% homeworks, 15% each exam
• 418: 100% programming assignments
• Late assignments
• Due at start of class
• until start of next class: grade*0.85
• until start of second class: grade*0.70
• until start of third class: grade*0.50
• afterwards: 0

Collaboration Policy

• The Principle: an assignment is an academic document. You are implying that everything in it is your original idea unless you cite a source for it.
• Homeworks
• discuss problems in general terms; read published sources
• all writing is your own; no one sees your writeup
• cite your sources in your writeup (important!)
• Programs
• no one but your partner sees your code
• no code copied from anywhere
• cite your sources in comments (important!)
• Exams: No collaboration allowed
